.:Sunday 4-13-08- Team arrives in Nairobi and will spend the night at the Methodist Guest House.::::..UPDATE.:::: Tim called me at 12:00pm and said that they had landed and all are well and they were going to get ready for bed and get ready for the day tommorrow. Their evening meal consisted of rice and fruit.
Continue praying for the hearts of the Dinka people to be transformed by God's power and for protection for our brothers.
.:Monday 4-14-08- Team arrives in Rumbek and stays in missionary compound. :::.UPDATE.::: Email message from Tim >>CLICK HERE<<.
Continue to pray for Me'en, Amook, and Aliet and all those who are training to go into this area and share the gospel with this part of the world. Pray for the translators and Dinka brothers that will stay and disciple the people there.
.:Tuesday 4-15-08- Team will arrive in Malek and set up base camp there for training and going into the field.
Pray for clear roads and the people of malek and surrounding villages as our team moves in to train the leadership and begin to share God's stories to them.
.: Friday 4-18-08- :::.UPDATE.::: Tim spoke with Lynda by phone and the following is a summary of their conversation. The Team is in Melek and training has begun, but alot of the field work has been cut short due to the rain. Melek is a typical Dinka village complete with idols and witch doctors. Lori suffered a foot injury from some sort of bite but all is well and her foot is healing.
.: Monday 4-21-08- :::.UPDATE.::: Tim spoke with Lynda and Katy today and reported what was going on. The temperature has been between 90-100 during the day and 70-75 at night. It has been mostly rainy throughout the day and night. Their base camp is in Melek, which they have never been to before, the town is lead by a witch doctor and an Anglican Priest who cannot read or write. He knows very little of the Bible but has been coming to thier Bible studies. A few days ago 3 men from another village were going to a cattle camp to do some revenge killing and to visit the witch doctor, but due to the rain they were held up in Malek and had to stay with our team, all have accepted Christ and have been with them for 3 days and gone to every Bible study. They have not done the revenge killing or seen the witch doctor. Tommorrow all of the men are heading off to have war with another village and all of the women are staying behind and our women have been able to have Bible study with them which has never been possible.
The churches that have been started in past trips are all thriving and continue to grow. The people who were healed last year are still healed and are attending church regularly.
Please continue to pray for the people of Malek and the evil forces at work there. May the power of Christ break the chains of darkness and continue to bring healing to this land.
.: Wednesday 4-23-08- :::.UPDATE.::: The team has returned to Rumbeck and will be arriving in Niarobi soon, they are leaving for home on the 25th. The trip was a tremendous success and there are many stories to tell. The team will be home on Saturday. Tim has an ear infection, so be in prayer for him and the rest of the team for a safe flight back to the US.
.:Saturday 4-26-08- Our team is back and home safe. Thank you for all your prayers and continue to pray for Malek and the pther villages they visited this year, continue to pray for the leadership in place and those who are continuing to bring Jesus to Southern Sudan.
